Dennis Leonard is the founder of Dennis Leonard Ministries and the senior pastor/founder of Heritage Christian Center in Denver, Colorado. Heritage is recognized as one of the most successful churches in America, with more than 12,000 people in weekly attendance.

One of Dennis Leonard's most fulfilling achievements has been his ability to attract and retain one of the most ethnically diverse congregations in America. He has done what many churches from different denominations have found almost impossible to achieve in breaking down racial, denominational, social, and economic barriers.

Dennis has successfully bridged the gap among numerous ethnic groups, forging many cultural and economic interests into one cohesive, loving unit.

Dennis Leonard has been described by his peers-and the greater secular and spiritual community-as a true leader and an example to follow in the ministry of reconciliation between cultures and denominations. He is a visionary and answers the call of missions both overseas and here in the United States.

Dennis Leonard was born in Denver and raised in a non-denominational home. At the age of 12, Dennis felt the call of the Lord on his life. For years, he ran from that call, seeking the ways of the world and all it had to offer. He became a successful building contractor but had no peace in his life for all the worldly success he had achieved. Dennis had praying parents that never stopped believing for his salvation, and, at the age of 31, Dennis returned to his first love, Jesus Christ.

From there, he went on to lead a Bible study for singles, then was led to begin a church. From its humble beginnings in his basement, Heritage Christian Center has become a powerful body of believers. In September 1999, he was consecrated as Bishop of Multi-Cultural Ministries in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship. He is the first white man to be consecrated as a bishop with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship headed by International Presiding Bishop, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. This new task opened the doors for Bishop Leonard to spread the vision that God gave him several years ago: "It's not a black thing, it's not a white thing, it's a Jesus thing."
